Publishers
We work with publishers in a variety of ways from The Reading Agency Connects membership to working closely with us to develop quality book collections such as Reading Well, Summer Reading Challenge and Quick Reads. Publishers support our mission by amplifying our campaigns and financially supporting our programmes as part of their CSR and wider marketing activity. We hold events specifically for publishers, giving networking opportunities with library staff as well as consumer insights events to support publisher’s book sales. In 2024, we started a new initiative working with publishers on an Arts Council England funded co-development project piloting new ways of building lived experience into the health content commissioning. We invite publishers to get in touch if they are interested in exploring different ways to embed lived experience in the publishing process.

For over two decades, The Reading Agency has been at the forefront of connecting publishers with readers through our extensive librarian, teacher and book club networks. We are a trusted partner, having worked with every library authority in the UK. Our marketing and communications team excels in leveraging insights gained from collaborations with stakeholders such as public, school and health libraries as well as education and charity partners.
We have an extensive list of partners including The Booker Prizes, the Women’s Prize for Fiction, BBC Radio 2 and Blue Peter. To improve our services year on year, we collaborate with over 40 publishers. We are proud to champion both emerging talents and established authors via our marketing promotions with publishers, ensuring their works reach diverse and eager audiences.

In 2024/2025:
- Over 650,000 people have been reached by Reading Partners campaigns, interacting with publisher-provided materials in libraries and schools, since April 2024
- More than 3,700 books distributed through promotions and giveaways
- 7,042 people reached by The Reading Agency’s Publisher Roadshow 2024
- Publisher digital assets viewed over 10,500 times on our resource databases

We have transformed our previous Reading Partners subscription in response to feedback from our publisher partners. This led to the development of an invigorated membership offering: The Reading Agency Connects.
We offer bespoke memberships and discounts for publishers who want to focus on a particular area.
