From the author of The Girl Who Stole an Elephant comes another brilliant escapade.
Razi, a local fisherboy, is watching turtle eggs hatch when he sees a boat bobbing into view. With a chill, he notices a small, still hand hanging over the side… Inside is Zheng, who’s escaped a shipwreck and is full of tales of sea monsters and missing treasure. But the villains who are after Zheng are soon after Razi and his sister, Shifa, too. And so begins an exhilarating adventure in the shadow of the biggest sea monster of them all…
really nice with a lot of different views of the world.
All the characters were really nice.Zeno was super daring and fun.Apparently he could never die.
This book was interesting and wonderfully executed it was also fictional and I was interested by the author.
I loved this book because it is adventures and the setting is where I was born. I would like to read other books by the same author.
Good book
This was a very good book because it had a great sense adventure and was very dramatic. The whale was very kind particularly when he saved the lives of the children. I'd recommend it to children aged 8 and over.
Read this with my mixed year 3/4 class during Summer term. They absolutely loved the story. I love how it also gave opportunities to explore the Sri Lankan culture and exposed the children to learning some of the language too. We enjoyed the adventurous nature of the story and the animal lovers in my class also thoroughly enjoyed it.
I liked Razi because he was determined and clever. He also survived being in a whale’s mouth. I also liked Shifa because she helped with healing and she persisted. I would recommend this book.
It was a gripping story but I felt that it needed to be explained a bit more. Otherwise, it was brilliant.
This was a very good book about friendship and love for your siblings. I really enjoyed reading it.
This book was great and I loved it
I liked this book because it was all about trust.Razi decided to trust Zheng and in the end it turned out all right and out shows that it is always worth a try.At the beginning of the book,Zheng was boastful and liked to show of but he learned that he wasn’t the greatest and started to be really nice. The person I liked best was Shifa.
This book was fiction, its main character is Razi. He had adventures around the world and discovered the whale. I would recommend the book.
