At the bottom of my garden, there’s a hedgehog and a frog,
And a lot of creepy-crawlies living underneath a log . . .
All around us, from parks to gardens and flowerpots to pavements, there’s a world of wonder just waiting to be discovered. Why not look a little closer and see what you find?
This joyful celebration of nature reminds us all to take a closer look at the world around us, and enjoy the wonder of nature wherever we find it. Packed with animals and minibeasts galore, this imaginative rhyming text is perfect for reading aloud.
I like the pictures in this story
It was nice going through a garden full of lots of bugs and the girl who was telling us about her garden full of bugs and everybody should have their own garden full of lots of bug friends
Brilliant
I liked how the mummy helped the baby woodlouse.
Beautiful illustrations
Lovely simple rhyming text. Perfect for EYFS and Year 1. Beautiful illustrations.
Beautiful drawings and easy to follow rhymes
It makes me feel joyful, and I love the pictures and the colours.
I like the book because it makes me happy. I was able to learn about new bugs
It’s a lovely story, not many words on each page
I enjoyed reading about all the insects and animals in the woods. My favourite part is the birds having a party on the tree. I think someone who enjoys nature and the environment would enjoy this book.
I love how the little girl lived in a snail shell.
I like when I could spot all different insects on the front page.
We loved this book, not only is it beautifully illustrated but the poem is lovely
I like the book it was about animals
I liked all the different animals. My favourite was the owl.
I liked the caterpillars best, especially the one reading a book in a hammock. The burglar squirrels were funny too.
Beautiful illustrations
Uplifting and joyful to read and share. A favourite image with the night-time double page of 'humming dragonfllies' with their music sheets and the insects curled up in their 'flower head beds'. The illustrations and the rhymes carefully balance each other. Definitely one to recommend.
I like seeing the frog play cards
